Jennifer Tosch is founder and CEO of Black Heritage Tours with which she creates
awareness of Amsterdam's black heritage. Tosch is a Surinamese-American who grew up in San Francisco and Oakland and came to Amsterdam for a postcolonial history course, given by the Black Europe
Summer School (BESS). She encountered a void regarding positive narratives about the presence and contributions of the African Diaspora in the Netherlands. That's why she founded Black
Heritage Tours in 2013. The tours inform, inspire and educate, and thanks to its succes Black Heritage Tours now are also organized in Brussels, Belgium and New York State.
